Thank you for your patience since the announcement of our COVID-19 postponement. After much deliberation, the time has come to set a new date for the Climate Engineering in Context conference. We are happy to announce that CEC21 will take place from October 5-8, 2021!
Building on the successes of the first and second international climate engineering conferences in 2014 (CEC14) and 2017 (CEC17), next year we continue with the third instalment of our conference series: Climate Engineering in Context (CEC21). CEC21 will provide a platform for transdisciplinary discussions that contextualise “climate engineering” approaches alongside other interventions into global systems in response to climate change. We aim to bring together perspectives from around the world to reflect on ways of responding globally to committed climate change in the wider context of societal transformations towards sustainability. CEC21 will provide a forum to present and discuss ongoing developments, scope key future questions and challenges for academia and society, and invite participants to reflect upon their roles and activities. As a unique feature of the CEC conference series, CEC21 will continue to integrate transdisciplinary and co-creative approaches to widen perspectives and contextualise discussions.
We are currently working on developing a solid contingency plan for a potential hybrid event which would maintain the unique character of the conference series by fostering a deep level of collaboration, exchange and transdisciplinary interaction.
