Nadine Mengis is a climate scientist at the GEOMAR, Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research, Kiel, working towards a comprehensive assessment of net-zero strategies for Germany within the Helmholtz Climate Initiative. Her research interests include uncertainties in carbon budgets with a focus on non-CO2 green-house gases, improving assessment frameworks for Climate Engineering schemes, and the moral implications of negative emission technologies. She holds a doctorate from the Christian Albrechts University of Kiel, which she worked towards in the context of the German Priority Program on Climate Engineering.
